Nigel was christened at Whiteley Village and so was his sister Jennifer. She was also married there. They lived at Fox Oak, the Warden's house, briefly, when their parents married in 1945 and again, briefly, when they returned from Australia in 1953
Nigel was educated at Ottershaw School in Surrey from 1959 to 1965.
Briefly studied law at Carlyle University.
Joined the Ministry of Transport in London as an Executive Officer in 1967.
Left there in 1970 to work for IBM UK in London and Warwick.
Took voluntary redundancy from IBM in 1993 and worked until 1998 as a test driver for the Rover Group, based at Gaydon in Warwickshire.
Then moved north to Cheshire and married for the second time in 2003. Married Christine and retired in Bollington, Cheshire.
One of their pastimes is housesitting for people in France and the UK.
